A Bohemian Chic wedding for Marine and Max at the Mas des Romarins

Updated: Jul 26

One fine June afternoon, at the Mas des Romarins… Everyone is bustling about, the wedding ceremony starts soon. The tables are set, the caterers are busy in the kitchen, the DJ is setting up, just a few more dried flowers to perfect the decoration and we’re all done.

For their intimate wedding ceremony, we’re delighted that Marine & Max chose the Mas des Romarins. It’s charmingly rustic setting, its change of pace in the heart of Provence provide the perfect backdrop for a natural and relaxed “Bohemian Chic” wedding and mood.

By the pond, teeming with frogs and dancing dragonflies, goldfish and fluttering butterflies, a pampas grass-festooned wedding arch awaits the ceremony. A few jute table runners, a splash of beige linen drapes and the setting for the upcoming ceremony is just perfect on the wooden deck, beside the gurgling waterfall and pond.

“Time just stands still here, at the Mas des Romarins” Marine tells us.

And that’s our aim.

Here our watchwords are all about slowing down, taking the time to enjoy a relaxed and understated luxury of the Mas and its surroundings.

As the afternoon draws to a close, the heat drops down a few degrees and the sun begins to bathe the intimate wedding party in a golden hue, the ceremony can begin. It unveils itself in a very personal and intensely emotional way, a moment suspended in time, that we feel very privileged to have been part of, set amongst the beauty of the garden and the surrounding nature. Timeless.

Next comes the meal and the reception. The bar, installed just by the orangery, is a storming success. The kitchen bustles, to do justice to the beautifully decorated tables installed on the pea-gravel terrace, in front the grand old Dame of the Mas in all it old-stone splendour.

Our wedding party stayed at the Mas des Romarins for three nights, to make the most of the changing moods and light, take the time to relax in the pool with friends and family, play a round of pétanque, and sip a perfectly chilled glass of rosé on the deck in the shade, take a wander around the grounds, say hi to the chickens and sheep or even just to relax in our cool, airy rooms – a truly Provençal experience.
